Editions

Pro Custodibus is available in three editions: a cloud-hosted Software as a Service Edition, an on-premises Enterprise Edition, and an on-premises Community Edition.

Software as a Service Edition

Pro Custodibus Software as a Service Edition (SaaS) is fully hosted and managed by Arcem Tene (makers of Pro Custodibus) in our secure cloud infrastructure. With this edition, you simply sign up for an account at https://pro.custodib.us/, and install the Pro Custodibus agent on each WireGuard host you want to manage.

Enterprise Edition

Pro Custodibus Enterprise Edition (EE) includes all the features and integration capabilities of the premium SaaS Edition. The difference is merely that you host and operate it entirely on your own premises, on your own internal servers.

To self-host Pro Custodibus, you need to run three programs on your servers:

  1. the Pro Custodibus API server

  2. a web server

  3. a database

You can run all three as Docker containers on a lightweight server with less than 1 GB or RAM for a basic deployment; or run each natively on its own dedicated hardware. See the on-premises documentation for full details.

Community Edition

Pro Custodibus Community Edition (CE) includes all the features of the standard SaaS Edition (but not all the integration capabilities of the premium SaaS Edition). Like the Enterprise Edition, you host and operate it entirely on your own premises, self-hosting it on your own internal servers.

The Community Edition shares the same codebase with the Enterprise Edition and SaaS Edition. The differences between the Community Edition and the Enterprise Edition are:

  • The CE is available for free under the GPL 3.0 license; the EE requires purchasing a license.

  • The CE includes all the standard Pro Custodibus features, but not all its integrations; the EE also includes all integrations.

  • The CE is not supported by the Pro Custodibus support team; the EE is fully supported, and comes with an SLA (Service Level Agreement).
